Nickel Plating

Spec-Elec Plating has the facilities to offer 2 different types of nickel finish on any type of contacts and connectors. The first of which is a hard nickel called “Watts Nickel”, and the second is “Sulfamate Nickel” which is a soft nickel designed more for soldering purposes. Our Nickel finish is a silver / white metal with a very bright shine. Nickel has high wear endurance, which is why it is commonly used as an undercoat for other metals such as gold or silver. It is used as a barrier for connectors to prevent any kind of corrosion or rust on parts made of copper, brass, or various other metals. Nickel plating generally consists of amounts from 100 micro inches to 300 micro inches depending on customer demands.
